Free Talk~ :D

*For Christians, I recommend Hinds' Feet on High Places; it's great*

anyway yeah, from this book.....
All of us are much afraid: of pain, sorrow, suffering..... and as Christians, we work for the Chief Sheperd, so why are we still much afraid? because we are part of the family of fearings, where there are things like Fear, humiliation, hate, and spite....

Today, I will talk about pride. ['Talk' about pride.... @-@ i have 2 minutes] anyway, pride is something that all of us have. Some amount of it creates confidence, but too much of it will lead us into the wrong direction and give us the sense that we can overcome Him who made us, and overcome the love that He gives us.

Pride makes us think that we are doing the right thing even when we're not. It is something that, once you acquire more than the healthy limit, you cannot stop getting more and more prideful, like the snowball effect. Just remember that, though we are by ourselves physically, He is almost preparing the path for us, and all we can do is listen to Him.

Hello everyone.

It's not that i can't resist Xanga, though i must admit, it's hard. I once swore that i'd never blog again, but this is for Jesus. This is one of the few things I can do for Him because i'm stuck at home all day long. I can't go to church activities, I can't spread the msg physically, so i will spread it through xanga, though it is like some dangerous thing to me.

i hope that some lone soul will stray back to this xanga and learn about Christ.

Love from above; God bless! I still take prayer requests.

Hey everyone, haven't posted in a while. I just got an interesting email and thought it'd be nice if put it here.

Winning the biggest battle of all
'Christ...is your example. Follow in his steps.' 1 Peter 2:TLB

Richard Halverson, an American author, writes, 'Do you want to be a winner? Compete against yourself, not somebody else. Outrunning your rival doesn't mean you ran your best race. You can win over another
and still not fulfil your potential. To be your best you must compete with yourself; Alexander the Great conquered the world, yet cursed his own lack of self-control. Victory over others may in fact be the very
thing that contributes to the winner's failure to conquer self. Winning makes him arrogant, independent, thoughtless; and sometimes cruel. The one who stops maturing spiritually because he thinks he
knows more scripture than others, or has more success in ministry, is still far from being what Christ has planned for him.' Wow, read that again and let it sink in! Sometimes it's easy for us to think we are
more sorted because we might be doing better than someone else. We might be doing better but are we doing our best? Oh and if you're going to start comparing, compare yourself with the top dog himself!
'Christ...is your example. Follow in His steps: He never sinned, never told a lie, never answered back when insulted; when He suffered He did not threaten to get even; He left His case in the hands of God who
always judges fairly' (1 Peter 2:21-23 TLB). Go ahead, measure yourself by that standard! And when you see how far short you fall, get down on your knees and ask God to mould and fashion your life into the full potential, the divine original He intended. Do that and you win the biggest battle of all!

Faith

Alright then. So I guess I could rant on and on about Jesus and God and how they have changed my lives. But most of you out there won't care because of this one question that hasn't be answered.

How can we know that God exists?

Hmm, let's think about that. The lot of you out there who read this xanga are nerdy freaks from TPMS. You like to PROVE things. Things that you can't touch, see, hear, taste, or smell aren't things that can be believed in. A load of junk, nothing that exists. Or really?

I'm just a girl of 13, I can't do much at all. I honestly can't give a good solid answer, but I'll just say what I think about it. I guess I believe in God because of this faith that is between me and Him. I believe that He is there, I believe that He exists, and i really DO believe that he is watching over us right now.

I will give an example i heard from church. Let's see, one of the most basic laws of nature, something that most kids know about: gravity. We all know that if we let go of a pencil at a height of 40 feet, it will plummet until it is stopped by some object or force or w/e terms you people can think of. But can we SEE gravity? Can we hear gravity? perhaps take a huge bite in it and say "mm gravity TASTES good?" Can we smell gravity, touch it? No we cannot. So why do we believe it?

It is because it is seen through situations every day: throwing pebbles into the water, dropping papers into the recycling bin, fumbling with a pen and accidentally losing control of it and dropping it. It is through acts that we believe in the law of gravity. So why can't be believe in the acts that are listed in the Bible? They are acts that have come through God, so if those acts took place, then why do we doubt God?

Hm, and another issue: The bible is about OLD people. DEAD people. people who never exist.

well let me ask you, why do people still repeat fables? Why are tales of ancient kings, warriors and scholars so prized and famous? Because of the lessons that are to be learned, correct? The entire Bible i just like a book of rules that are proven by actions. For example, in the old testament, the main theme is that Jews worship false idols, and they are punished by God. Moral: Don't worship any other god other than the true and living God. That rule has nothing to do with old people or old times.

Even if you're not satisfied with THAT explanation, think about the Bible's setting: it starts out at the beginning of time, when God created this world and humans. The Bible, then, ends in Revelations, where the end of the world comes around. That is the beginning AND end of the world right there. I think that we actually are in that time period, so why shouldn't the events of the bible apply to us??

The last issue that i will lightly skim over: sharing the gospel.

People call me a Religious Freak cuz i started up this xanga. You'd think that i'd be ashamed, but I'm really not. My savior, Jesus, hung before crowds of people naked, humiliated in the most painful way possible, was spit upon and all he did was try to wash away our sins! He was not ashamed to cleanse us with his blood; why should I be ashamed to merely touch upon his great teachings and extreme purity? Christians means "followers of Christ". Being a Christian, it is just my job to be more like Him, my savior. I am not nearly good enough to be even his follower.

I'll be the first to admit, it will be hard for me to put down all my stuff and follow Jesus. It will be hard for me to leave my family and friends to walk in his footsteps. I am not the disciple I should be, so I will just speak a bit of Him who gave me life.

And I want to thank God for blessing me with successes and for people and for a wonderful new year of 2007.

IF you have any prayer requests, just comment. :) God bless.

free talk (again ^-^)

Merry Christmas Eve!!! and Merry Christmas for tomorrow!!!

ok, so people might be wondering why the heck i'm bolding the first six letters of Christmas. Well, it's as if the reason isn't obvious anyway: People are forgeting the real meaning of Christmas. We're caught up with so much of the christmas wrapping paper, christmas candles, christmas decorations, christmas parties, and above all, the christmas gifts. This is actually pretty ironic that we're forgeting the true meaning of christmas because of christmas gifts, because the real meaning of christmas is the giving of the One Special Gift.

I'm sure that all of you people have calluses in your ears from listening to the christmas story. right? I bet. But actually stop and think about the absurdity of it all: how a virgin got pregnant. Mary was pledged to marry Joseph (well duh).. imagine Joseph's reaction!! I mean, come on, he's about to marry this girl and he finds out that she's pregnant. But he's pretty nice so he's going to divorce her quietly because during that time, if you got pregnant before you're married, you get stoned to death, whether you were raped or not. Freaky, right? So, to keep her safe, Joseph decided to keep everything quiet. And then an angel came and told Joseph that he should still marry her because she got pregnant through the holy spirit.

now many of you would gladly say that God was a big pervert when hearing that. That's cuz you're just taking things the wrong way. God didn't screw her and give her that baby; i mean, He had to make Jesus part of this world, and the only way was through a woman. And think about the choice of the woman!! She's just a teenager. And it's not like her family line did much good: most were prostitutes and such. Why would God make way for the Holy Prince through such a 'dirty' line of blood? Well, I mean, keep in mind that Jesus' purpose was to, well, save those that needed to be saved. If everyone he came in contact with was 'clean' and 'holy', what would be the poitn of him coming to Earth? Seriously.

So yup. Joseph was told by an angel to marry Mary and keep going with the plans. And because of the census (this really weird taxing thing), everyone had to go to their own town. Joseph's town was Bethlehem, cuz he was of the house and line of David. When he got there... well... he wasn't the ONLY one who was going home for the census thing. When he got there, all the inns were already packed, so where did he go? To the stables.

Two things: #1: doesn't this 'no room here sorry' thing sound familiar? How many people use 'busy-ness' as an excuse for not spending time with God? How many people are just too darn busy to spend a few minutes sharing their special bond with God? and Yes it IS special. Though it's available for everyone, only a FEW chose to acknowledge it. And plus, as long as you have that bond with God, all will be good. See:

yougod  <= that's your connection with God! and that's the hard part too. And that's only half of it, though it's the harder half.

lifesquared<= that's the second part. i mean, that's the reward for all Believers: life on earth being followed by eternal life. setting that on the connection you have with God, you have:

Godcrosstogether

setting the horizontal beam on the cross isn't hard as long as you have the vertical one. and as long as you take the sign, 'no vacances' down and put up the sign 'open', and actually really open your heart to God and let him come in, your cross is basically done.

#2: Joseph and Mary and the Jesus-to-be-who-was-still-in-Mary being forced to live in a grimy stable with the awful stench of manure and dusty, dirty animals and no furniture was no accident. Also, the fact that Jesus had no midwife or doctor to help him make his way into this world was no accident either. God had planned everything out: Because God is fair, he had to make Jesus like all the other sacrifices; that is, He had to make sure Jesus was humbled, meek, and not all egoistic (sp?).

ok, moving on. Well yeah, then the shepards got a msg from a multitude of angels. Oh right. The angels. Christians may have forgotten how special angels are. Yeah, sure you can imagine those great halos and fluffy wings but they're definitely not the peaceful-est ppl around. In the Old testament when God had to show his grace by saving Israel, the angels did most of the fighting. One of the angels (i forgot who shame on me) killed 18,500 people in one night. So each angel is definitely not ordinary. so then you have a multitude of angels. that's a pretty big deal.

And the Magi. they came from far away to come see Jesus. And when they arrived, along with the shepards, they offered a lot of great gifts to this dirty baby wrapped in thin cloths and is lying in a manger!! imagine! And going to back to the thing about Jesus not getting the best things in the world... Well, shepards weren't so great back then. Because of their occupations, they weren't even allowed to testify at court. Magi's weren't so special either, though they were 3 king-like figures... i mean, they're foreigners! If you people think about the time period in which this all happened, gentiles and israelites didn't get along very well. And there you have it: shepards and foreigners worshipping God.

Although I don't know much about why these people were there, I can always make connections. The shepards were there cuz

1) Jesus himself was like a shepard. He came to take care of lost sheep. There are 2 kinds of shepards: one that would sacrifice his life for the flock, and the other that would sacrifice his flock for his life. Knowing what happened to Jesus in the end, which type do you think He was?

and

2) Shepards were lowly people. Didn't I already talk about Jesus not getting what he actually deserves?

and with the Magi... there are a few explanations:

1) Christianity is a world-wide religion. Maybe God was trying to make sure that the fact that foreigners were one of the first to worship his son would be recognized as the fact that God is the Father of All and not just the Israelites just cuz they were the Chosen Ones.

or

2) Maybe God meant that even the richest kings from faraway lands would have to bow down to his Son, the true King.

or

3) Bringing Magi to the stables might mean that the kings out there WILL be humbled in front of his sons. This reverence is really expected of us: Think about it. When we pray, we bow our heads. When we pray at night, we (are supposed to, at least) kneel. I guess it's just part of the fact that when talking with God, it's just like coming in front of him. Would you talk to the Ruler, Master, King, Creator etc of everything when lying on your back, slumping over a chair, or when being distracted by other things? Would you be defiant like that?

And so is the story of Jesus' birth. I kinda wanted to put it all in my own words so it wouldn't be too boring. And i tried to make as many connections as possible; i hope i helped you guys think out-of-the-box.

so Merry Christmas to you all!!

~WP

PS: JUST CUZ I SAID THAT CHRIST IS THE TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU CAN'T SPEND THE TIME WITH YOUR FAMILY!!! Christmas, in the cultural aspect, at least, is a time to enjoy a little break with your families. What I said at the beginning of the post basically means that although Christmas is a fun part of our culture, we can't get carried away with the other earthly stuff surrounding this holiday. I hope i didn't spoil your fun!
